KEV FAZACKERLEY
MIXED MEDIA ARTIST
A photograph cannot recreate an experience whereas art can try.’
Kev Fazackerley’s artworks capture a narrative, evoking a memory or an imaginary story about real places. A photograph cannot recreate an experience whereas art can try. His work responds to moments,
movement and time as well as a place.
He creates large mural style pieces using ink on paper, overworked with charcoal and white pencil to add detail. The scale encourages the eye to
wander and the subtle distortion allows the viewer to feels immersed within the image, as if viewing a whole panoramic from one spot - something that the eye could not capture from life in one view.
He works by ‘piecing together’ elements of a memory to create unique panoramas. Often working with clients to understand their story and what they want to remember from a particular place or moment in time.
His background in architecture and masterplanning provides an important understanding of accuracy and scale which he then expressively manipulates allowing the fluidity of the medium to mirror the fluidity of the story he depicts.
